The PURADISC® BIO SD comprises a depth filtration system for particle removal e.g. cells, bacteria, yeast, for impurities removal e.g. HCP, DNA and other turbid matter from process liquids such as fermentation broth. The system is also useful for other applications such as activated carbon removal or similar processes with demanding cleaning requirements. PURADISC® BIO SD is the first depth filter using the advantages of the alluvial (cake or precoat) filtration technology in a disposable format. Alluvial filtration is a well-established method in pharmaceutical industries. PURADISC® BIO SD is a high-performance microfiltration system.
