The certification of solid fuel appliances is aimed at manufacturers who wish to place safe products on the market that comply with industry standards, a mandatory condition for selling the product.
The main standards for solid fuel stoves are:
- EN 13240 - Solid fuel stoves
- EN 15250 - Slow heat release appliances fired by solid fuel
- EN 13229 - Inserts and open fireplaces fired by solid fuel
- EN 14785 - Appliances for domestic heating powered by wood pellets
- EN 12815 - Solid fuel heating stoves
- EN 12809 - Independent domestic boilers fired by solid fuel - Nominal heat output not exceeding 50 kW
- EN 303-5 - Heating boilers for solid fuels, manually and automatically stoked, with a nominal heat output of up to 500 kW
- EN 16647 - Liquid fuel fireplaces - Decorative flame producing appliances using alcohol or gel fuel - Residential use
