Food vacuum bags are BPA-free and specially designed to withstand the temperatures involved with sous vide cooking; at 75 °c for up to 12 hours, at 80 °c for up to 6 hours, and at 100 °c for up to 15 minutes.

Compared to competing brands, Status bags and foils boast the thickest layer of polyamide (20 μm) which makes them the most quality option for storing food. The height of the ribbed profile determines the quality of vacuum packing. Status bags feature at least a 0.2 mm high ribbed layer which enables them to all be vacuum sealed uniformly whether it be the first or the 50th vacuum cycle. Thinner bags can be vacuum sealed well during the initial few cycles (maximum of 10 bags) but later even the quality vacuum packing machines cannot establish vacuum. Their embossed criss-cross pattern helps the air be removed more effectively during the vacuum sealing process.
