Join us on an eco-friendly journey to the Bertinoro recycling plant! In this captivating video, you’ll get an exclusive look at Plastisavio’s cutting-edge plastic recycling facility—Betinoro. As pioneers in plastic material sorting, we proudly inaugurated this state-of-the-art plant just one year ago. Our strong partnership with Cimbria has been instrumental in driving innovation. This marks our second collaboration with Plastisavio, and we’re thrilled about the new projects on the horizon. At the heart of our operation lies optical selection technology—a true game-changer for Plastisavio. It efficiently recovers post-consumer recycled materials. Picture this: the plant processes approximately 2000 kg of input per hour, yielding 1300-1400 kg of high-quality polystyrene as output. But that’s not all—metals are recycled, and we even reprocess materials to remove other polymers like polypropylene. How does it all work? The incoming polystyrene arrives via RAE circuits, primarily sourced from electronic waste. Our cutting-edge machinery springs into action. First, we homogenize the product in silos. Next, meticulous de-dusting using the Delta machine ensures particles under 4 mm are removed. Then comes the critical phase: polymer separation. We deftly isolate PVC from polystyrene, extract polypropylene, and achieve an impressive 99% pure polystyrene. What sets us apart? Unlike traditional water-based separation methods, our dry plant eliminates microplastic emissions. It’s not only environmentally friendly but also cost-effective, reducing waste and slashing energy consumption. Plastisavio transforms recycled shockproof polystyrene into a variety of materials—think industrial packaging, automotive components, and more. Plastic recycling is evolving rapidly, and optical sorting technology is at the forefront. Cimbria’s advanced optical sorters play a pivotal role in this dynamic market.
