In 1983 Digmesa's journey began: Heinz Plüss founded the Digmesa AG. Years earlier, in his garage in Schönbühl, he had been working on the idea of digitally measuring and dosing the amount of coffee. With the founding of the company, a great dream came true.
For the past 40 years we have continued this dream: Digmesa has reached some big milestones and experienced many unforgettable moments. Find out what exactly.
1983-2003
Soon after the foundation, the first flowmeters were already sold. The very first flowmeter developed was our FH flowmeter, which is still being produced today. It only took Digmesa a year to be granted the first patent in the field of flow measurement. In 1988 we were able to set up our own development department to create more optimized flowmeters in the future and even later in 1990 we were able put the first rotary transfer machine into operation so that our popular FH Flowmeter could be produced even more efficiently.
In 1995 we launched a flowmeter for household coffee machines, our FHKSC, which is still a customer favourite today. 3 years later, in 1988, we built a new company building and moved into it. Ever since then the Digmesa AG is located at Keltenstrasse 31 in Ipsach. Additionally we were able to introduced lead-free brass in our production and therefore created the first flowmeter with NSF approval. This was later joined by further certifications such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
2003-2023
Over time, further automats, process optimizations and innovations followed. By 2005, we had sold a total of 10,000,000 measuring instruments. But Digmesa had an even bigger vision! The Heinz Plüss Foundation was established and in 2013 our sister company, today's Digmesa Polyform AG, was acquired. By 2017 we had sold 110,000,000 flowmeters and more are constantly being added.
On May 5, 2023, we have finally celebrated our 40th anniversary in company of many customers, partners and employees.
We are excited to see what the future has to bring and how the Digmesa story continues. Do you want to be part of it?
