MOMENT, an innovative teapot designed and produced by NARUMI, has been awarded Red Dot in the Red Dot Award: Product Design [2023].

The Red Dot Design Award is one of the world’s largest design competitions. Based in Essen, Germany, it is worldwide known as a seal of quality for good design.

Asian Tradition

The teapot is shaped like a flattened classical jar, inspired by traditional Asian ceramics. The uniquely curved handle recalls a traditional Japanese pattern of flowing water. Tradition is skillfully incorporated into the design, evoking deep emotions in people’s hearts.

Ergonomic Design

MOMENT has structure that reduces the load by focusing on the moment of inertia. This teapot can reduce the load on the wrist by more than 30% compared to a teapot of the same capacity with a standard handle. Teapots with such handles are difficult to produce with ordinary ceramics, but the firing technique of Bone China has made it possible.
